Roof Patent

Heatizon Strategically Issued Patent for Roof Ice Melt Systems

Press Release

For Immediate Release – July 4, 2006

HEATIZON SYSTEMS – Salt Lake City, Utah USA

July 4, 2006 – Heatizon Systems is issued patent for roof snow and ice melt system.

Murray, Utah – Heatwave Systems L.L.C. d.b.a. Heatizon Systems is pleased to announce that it has obtained the rights to a patented under roof snow and ice melt technology designed to be installed under metal roofs, valley metal, and metal flashing. The patented product will be marketed under the brand name “Heatizon Heatsink Kit” and will utilize Heatizon Systems “Tuff Cable” heating element. Heatizon Systems roof snow and ice melt products will continue to be marked with the ETL mark for under roof covering material applications.

Steven Bench, Managing Member for Heatizon Systems, said, “We are extremely excited about the market potential for roof snow and ice melt that can be installed under metal roofing materials. Prior technologies for metal roofing materials have all attached to the exterior of the roof covering and were designed to provide a channel for water to escape the roof. Heatizon Systems products are designed to eliminate snow and ice from potential problematic areas of the roof, thereby eliminating the potential for ice dams and the damage they cause.”

Like all of Heatizon Systems low voltage products “Tuff Cable in a Heatsink Kit” proudly carries the ETL mark that indicates that it has satisfied the appropriate testing required by UL Standards. Bench stated, “Our research leads us to believe that Heatizon Systems roof snow and ice melt products are the only ones specifically listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory for application under the roof covering material.”

Shawn Wright, with WarmQuest, an official distributor of Heatizon Systems products, commented, “I am not aware of any other heating element product that is both designed to be installed permanently under the roof covering material and is listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory for roof snow and ice melting.”

Heatizon Systems products compete in the highly competitive radiant heating industry against many high voltage and hot water products. Unfortunately, some of the products that compete against Heatizon Systems floor warming, space heating, snow melting and roof snow and ice melting products are:

not listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory; and/or,
not being installed in a manner that is consistent with the requirements of the standards to which they have been tested and labeled.

Patent Heatsink

Heatizon is Awarded a Patent on Heatsink Systems for Deicing Under Roof Coverings

Press Release

July 27, 2006

HEATIZON SYSTEMS – Salt Lake City, Utah USA

Murray, Utah – Heatwave Systems L.L.C. d.b.a. Heatizon Systems (“Heatizon”) is pleased to announce that one of its members, Steven D. Bench, was recently awarded a patent for a technology designed to remove snow and ice from the roofs of residences, and commercial and industrial buildings. Mr. Bench has assigned the manufacturing rights for the product covered by the patent to Heatwave Systems L.L.C. d.b.a. Heatizon Systems.

Heatizon manufactures a complete line of radiant in-floor space heating; radiant snow melting; radiant space heating; and, radiant roof snow and ice melt products. The company’s radiant roof snow and ice melt products are unique in the following four ways. First, they are designed to be installed under the roof covering material so they are permanent and not aesthetically distracting. Second, Heatizon Systems radiant roof snow and ice melting products totally remove the snow and ice off of the roof rather than melting just the eave line or merely providing a path for water like the traditional heat tape products. Third, they are engineered to last longer than most roof covering materials; and, Fourth, they are manufactured in the United States of America.

Russ Childs, with Heatizon Systems, said “we are extremely excited about the market possibilities of the newly patented technology. Like all of our products, those built utilizing the newly patented technology are specifically listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory for application under the roof covering material.”

According to Steven Bench, Managing Member for Heatizon Systems, “Heatizon Systems long standing objective of being on the leading edge of product development, for the applications for which it endeavors to compete, has once again been satisfied.”

Shawn Wright, of WarmQuest, an official distributor of Heatizon Systems products, commented: “I am not aware of any other radiant roof snow and ice melting product that is designed to be installed permanently under the roof covering material and listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory for roof snow and ice melting. There are, however, many roof snow and ice melt products that are designed to be installed on top of the roof covering material and in the gutters and downspouts but only Heatizon Systems products are designed to be completely invisible once the roof covering materials are installed.”

Heatizon Systems is located at 4137 South 500 West, Murray, Utah, 84123. For additional information on Heatizon Systems or its fine products please visit www.Heatizon.com or contact Heatizon Systems at either (801) 293-1232 or info@heatizon.com

Heatizon Introduces New Low Voltage Radiant Heat Control Unit

Heatizon Systems is excited to introduce the Radiant 8 low voltage control unit. Designed for use in interior floor and space heating systems, as well as roof deicing and snow melting systems, the Radiant 8 gives the user increased control over their system.

Entirely microprocessor controlled, the Radiant 8 is self-calibrating and provides more flexibility in setup and operation. New features include an Energy Miser mode, which holds the heated area at a fixed temperature to preheat an area for a storm. The system has a Pause on Temp which can limit the system to 85°F, limiting costs and saving energy. Also included is a built in 4 to 12 hour timer button providing a manual override for activating the system.

“The software on the Radiant 8 has been engineered to maximize performance. Once the proper values are entered into the Radiant 8 programming, the Radiant 8 provides carefree operation” says Heatizon Product Manager Alan Christensen.

The Radiant 8 is self diagnosing, and uses a visual display to report any information about the system. Coupled with a built in alarm to alert users to any detected faults, this visual display simplifies any troubleshooting that may occur. To provide added control, the unit includes built in ground fault protection.

Like our CBX units, the Radiant 8 houses a step down transformer and the necessary controls for powering low voltage ZMesh or Tuff Cable radiant heating systems. For more details about this control unit visit: http://www.heatizon.com/files/components/control-units-radiant8.pdf

Heatizon Cold Leads Are Blue

Heatizon Systems Cold Leads are Blue

For Immediate Release

September 19, 2012

HEATIZON SYSTEMS – Salt Lake City, Utah USA

Heatizon Systems, a manufacturer of low and line voltage electric radiant heating and snow melting products announced today that it has changed the color of the Cold Lead Component, used with its CBX6/23, CBX7, and Radiant 8 Control Units, from “Black” to the color “Blue”. Managing Member Steven Bench announced the change and the reasons for it by stating: “The change in the color of our Cold Leads is designed to make it easy for stakeholders in the installation of Heatizon Systems low voltage products, using ZMesh and Tuff Cable heating elements, to verify that all of the components used are official Heatizon Systems. Using official Heatizon Systems components is important for three reasons: First, because our products are listed as a complete radiant panel set so adding components sourced from others jeopardizes the listing; Second, Heatizon Systems’ warranty requires that no third party components be added to its products; and, Third, Heatizon Systems offers real time technical support via telephone and internet chat to all of its customers and troubleshooting can be very difficult if the components connected to its products are not known.”

Heatizon Systems markets its complete line of electric low and line voltage products through stocking distributors across North America.  The company sells its products under the brand names:  Cozy Heat, Floorizwarm, GutterMelt, Heatwave, Hott-Wire, In-Pipe, Out-Pipe, Radiant Trak, Tuff Cable, and ZMesh.  All Heatizon Systems products carry the ETL mark signifying that they are listed to UL Standards and Certified to CSA standards by Intertek.
